As a junior, I have learned key aspects in my life that help me keep going and ensure that I am healthy. Of course, I am still learning and there is no perfect routine out there, but I have come a long way in figuring out some things that work for me. As long as you are willing to learn and experiment with what brings you joy then that’s all that matters. I thought I might share some things I do every day that make life a bit easier. Humidifying. As someone who uses their voice a lot, I find this to be really important. I love MyPurMist and use it every morning and night for ten minutes to give more moisture to my throat and clear up my sinuses. This is really beneficial for those who have allergies, during the wintertime, and for those who may have come down with a cold. While I humidify, I also love to take this time to meditate and check in with myself and my body; to prepare or reflect on the day. This time is a great way to show myself compassion and love.
I started listening to affirmations after a job I had during the summer where affirmations were a big part of the curriculum for the kids at the camp. I decided to try it out. I explored different affirmations on Youtube and Spotify and came across a daily affirmation podcast by Grasp Power that I listen to every night. Each statement starts with “I am…” and finishes off with different endearing remarks. I find that listening to the affirmations at night is helpful to go into my subconscious, focus on the words, and repeat them to myself. Listening to the affirmations every night has made it easier to repeat them during the day and remember them when I forget to positively care for myself; it has boosted my confidence and self-esteem. I hope after reading this you are able to reflect on your daily day and how you can make it better for yourself. - Audrey Adji
